Hello My Name Is...
Yuridia Patricia Peralta de Gandy
I will be your instructor for Chemistry Honors, Dual Credit Biology and AP Biology. I obtained my Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree from Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (ITESM) . Upon my graduation I served as a Biostatistics and Experimental Design instructor for ITESM. Later on, I owned and operated, a genetics laboratory specialized in animal reproduction. I received my Master in Science in Chemistry and Biology from University of Texas-Pan American (UTPA). At that time, I conducted research mainly in the area of Environmental Chemistry and Plant Physiology, which led to the publication of several papers in the area of arsenicals presence in soils.
I have worked in public education at different capacities, including teaching Chemistry, Physics, AP courses and College sciences. In 2011, I joined Region One ESC and served as the Science and STEM Coordinator providing professional development for educators. Since 2017 I have devoted my efforts into providing science instruction at high school and college level.
I am attaching the syllabus for this class, be sure to go over it and review classroom rules and grading policy.
