GPA Class Ranking
CALCULATING CLASS RANK
Class rank shall be determined by averaging all core course semester grades through the end of each year. Final senior class rank shall be determined using the average of all core course semester grades up to and including the third semester, the last progress report grade for the 50-minute period, and the government/economics dual enrollment or Advanced Placement (AP)government/economics courses.
Rank shall be computed by assigning grade points to academic core high school courses taken in grades 9–12 only in English, science,mathematics, and social studies.
EXCLUDED COURSES
Coursework completed by traditional correspondence, credit by examination,summer school, or approved off-campus concurrent enrollment classes shall not be included in determining class rank.
The District shall accept dual enrollment classes taught only at the high school campus in order to fulfill graduation requirements. Students may take additional college classes, but these classes shall
not substitute for a required high school credit class.
WEIGHTED GRADES
All courses eligible to receive weighted grades shall be designated in the curriculum bulletin.

GRADE 9 BEGINNING IN 2016-17 SCHOOL YEAR
All courses eligible to receive weighted grades shall be designated in the curriculum bulletin.
Grade weights shall be assigned to grades earned by high school students who entered grade 9 in the 2016–17 school year for purposes of class rank, in accordance with the following scale:
* Weighted numerical grade: rank purposes only.
** For AP courses taken in grades 9–11, students shall receive AP (Level VI) weight only if they score a 3, 4, or 5 on the associated AP test for that course. For AP courses taken in grade 12, students shall receive full AP (Level V) upon completion of the course.
